Can't wait to see the opening ceremony, I'm a big fan. And I'd love to visit DohaSport is much better than war, Indeed, therefore, I intend to say it loudly and clearly, the football world cup is a mega event that brings glory to each participating team. For the host country, it means the arrival of thousands of tourists flocking to their busy streets, sharing festive feelings of unity and resilience. For us, televiewers, the world at this time, comes to a standstill, as we cheer our favourite team and watch the most skillful players become big worldwide stars. It's such a worldwide test for them, ¡God bless them! I have cherished so many memories from this tournament: stadiums, sticker collections, players, national anthems, and the like, that’s why, today, I want to combine some facts of the past world cups with another passion, and that is TRAVEL.
El deporte es mucho mejor que la guerra, así que se oiga bien duro, que yo le doy el sí al mundial de fútbol, pues, es un mega-evento, que le trae gloria a cada equipo participante. Para el país anfitrión, significa la llegada de miles de turistas, agolpándose en sus calles, compartiendo de cerca, sentimientos de unidad y resiliencia. A nosotros, los televidentes, se nos paraliza
el mundo, haciéndole barra a nuestro equipo favorito y viendo que algunos futbolistas se convierten en grandes estrellas. Es como un examen mundial para ellos, que ¡Dios los bendiga! Tengo tanto para recordar: estadios, álbumes de los equipos, jugadores, himnos y demás, que hoy, quiero combinar algunas realidades de estos mundiales, con otra gran pasión: el viajar.

A heavenly city, that last August served me as a place of refuge, but not due to physical tiredness as a footballer. It was there that I, following Gabo’s steps, finished my first novel, oh yes: “Elina, Sueños de Romance,” that's the title.
En Catar, 2022, por primera vez en un mundial, habrá medidas preventivas, tales como la exigencia de carnets de vacunación y no se ingerirá trago en los estadios. Como Colombia no clasificó, estaré apoyando mi bella Francia hasta el final. Y como dije, que voy a hablar de vacaciones, el viaje más reciente que quiero resaltar fue a Santamarta, en mi bella Colombia; es la capital del Magdalena, conocida como la cuna del Realismo Mágico, de donde es oriundo nuestro Nobel…. Gabriel García Márquez, ¿les suena?. Una ciudad paradisiaca, que, este agosto me sirvió como refugio, pero no por cansancio físico de futbolista, sino porque siguiéndole los pasos a Gabo, allí finalicé allí mi primera novela: “Elina, Sueños de Romance.”

El viaje, que quiero inmortalizar en ese periodo fue el de Budapest, toda una majestuosidad de ciudad, en la que me vi, como caminando por un museo en sus calles, que me conducían al Puente de las Cadenas, todo un espectáculo que nunca olvidaré, especialmente en la noche, cuando pude mejor admirar a Buda de un lado y a Pest del otro.

No se vivieron tantos aciertos en este mundial, pero, yo sí metí un gran gol en Australia, al rentar un carro para conducir de Melbourne a Sydney, ida y vuelta, mirando en retrospectiva, no creo haber sido capaz de conducir a la derecha, pero sentí confianza al ser apoyado por los cultos australianos, a quienes no les importó nada mis errores. Mi mejor recuerdo fueron los signos de tráfico, con figuras de canguros, arañas venenosas y serpientes mientras manejaba; menos mal que no estaba pasando mi examen de conducción, si no, lo hubiera perdido del susto.

Fascinating memories of France
I was so young, lots of hair...and I'm balding now, it must be too much anxiety about the matches, jejeje. Quiero que vuelvan esos días, en Inglaterra, trabajando como asistente, y luego, laborando aquí y allá, para poder pagarme los estudios. También pude conocer la verde Irlanda, Escocia y los alrededores de Londres, inolvidables viajes.
And that’s how, I'll end this account of my football worldcup memories, which brought me a great array of football, travel and work memories. I hope the world eventually forgets about war desires, learn to appreciate life so that God can allow us to watch many more worldcups! We need events like these to unite us all
Y así le pongo fin a este recorrido, que me trajo una inmensidad de recuerdos futboleros y viajeros. Y ahora, esperando se olviden los deseos de guerra, que se aprecie la vida y que mi Dios nos dé el chance de ver muchos otros mundiales, pues necesitamos eventos como estos que nos unan como un solo pueblo.
