After leaving the Arctic Circle back in July our route has been going south. Today is the inevitable turning point and for the next 3 months the plan is to head northwards through Argentina and then through Africa, until we reach Nairobi. Let's hope this leg is as much fun as we've had so far.

Waking early to be collected by the minibus to take us back to Puerto Navarino. We got to see the rest of the city we missed on foot, namely the customs officials' homes.

Leaving Chile was not a problem, but the experience a little weird as one minute you are sitting close to the customs official who is asleep bouncing into you and next she is sat seriously behind a desk inspecting your passport and validity etc.

The ride back in the zodiac was not as smooth as the one yesterday. The captain obviously had something important to get back to and opened the throttle, oblivious to the large swell and the boat being thrown about the place. Made for back breaking stuff.

The afternoon was spent relaxing back in the 'Freestyle' hostel, well it would be rude not to, whilst the evening was spent in a recommended restaurant with views overlooking Ushuaia. Here we celebrated our 5 months wedding anniversary with a bottle of surprisingly good espumante (fake champagne). A very pleasant evening planning the next 7 months of our honeymoon. Hee.
