I have just arrived back to the main land in the town of Trang. We have spent the last 4 days relaxing in the island paridise of Ko Mook. It was so beautiful with white sandy beaches, few people and clear waters. I was in heaven! We spent last weekend in Ao Nang where i felt i had seriously had enough of my tour now and was thinking about not going to Ko Mook and heading back to Bangkok but i am so glad i went

We rocked up in Ko Mook on a long tail boat with high hopes of having somewhere nice to stay, the accomodation so far that the intrepid tour had arranged in the South has been horrible and this was 1 of the reasons i was unsure about weather to carry on with the tour. I don't mind basic accomodation but i am so over the ant ridden toilets and beds, the shacks with pointless ceilings and mossie nets with huge holes in them.

Anyway, it was looking highly hopeful as we stepped off the boat onto the white sandy beach.in front of me a beach bar and behind a resort that made me smile and a pool that looked over the beach. So putting our packs on we headed up towards it, as happy as larry.i knew deep down that this resort wasnt to be ours and as expected the tour leader walked straight past it. We headed away from the beach front and right to the back where we were shown our accomodation, up the hill in some shacks with u guessed it, ant ridden toilets, no electricity till 7pm and lizards the size of my arm.

I had had enough, while everyone got settled and had some lunch i went straight back down to the front and booked into the beachfront resort that made me smile and that made my credit card moan. I was so happy drinking cocktails in the pool of my resort and as the afternoon went on over half of the tour group moved down as well. I stayed here for 4 days and missed out on the sea safari with the tour, it didnt sound that appealling and as usual the tour leader didnt make it sound very exciting.

The tour leader for intrepid has not been that great, she knows very little about any area with her favourite phrase of "i dont know", which has become very repetitive over the last couple of weeks. She has little enthusiasm to learn and join in with the activities we have been doing and i am quite glad i have finished my tour now and can carry on my travels on my own.Ihave enjoyed the tour and have seen so much more than i think i would have been able to see on my own and without any hassle sorting out transport and accomodation but i dont think i would do it again and certainly not for a whole month.

We have had loads of free time in the South on the trip so feeling really relaxed i think the highlight was definately Ko Mook but thouroughly enjoyed the Ko Sok National Park where we stayed at the Arts Riverview lodge. The accomodation was basic but they had a really good bunch of people working there who made the place. Me and Nat hired some motorbikes for the day, they were so cool and visited a waterfall and temple, it torrentially downpoured on the way back to the lodge, but was such good fun, i looked like i'd been jet ski rather than on a motor bike. The guys who worked in the place we were staying took us out at the end of the night as well, it was really cool the stars were amazing and looked so close. We rode through the jungle for a bit, anyone who knows me can imagion what i was like, scared to death of the leeches as we rode through bush and grass as high as the bike.

Anyway, heading back to Bangkok in a bit on the night train, love these trains, u get a little bed and there is a disco cart which plays cheesey music while u drink your btl of sangsom. So excited about going to the Phillipines now and meeting up with Sammy and Gaz, the people on the south part of the tour have been cool and up for a few drinks but im missing my real drinking buddies.

Sorry there are no photos i have had a bitch of a week and have lost and broken so much stuff. I soaked my camera in the sea and broke it, felt annoyed but at least i had my memory chip with the photos on it........... well i did!!!! I have mananged to lose it, not only this but someone stole my hammock and i managed to leave my only bikini in Krabi, drop my deoderant out of my hotel room and broken yet 2 more pairs of sandles. That has to be it now, theres nothing else to lose.

Happy Birthday Mum, hope u had a good one and hope u have a nice holiday Dad and Chris
