Cruise to Madeira

4:45 alarm call! Fortunately all or cases packed and ready so we just need to get dressed. Many thanks to Gordon our kind neighbour who offered us a lift to Scotch Corner.

Our Eavesway coach is ready and waiting and we set off at 6:30 in the dark with heavy rain. After a comfortable coach journey we arrive in Southampton at 13:30. After a speedy check in and security check we are on board Balmoral with our cases sat outside our cabin. Lorna Val's sister and Kevin meet us and we are happy to celebrate Kevin's birthday.

Two lazy days at sea follow with temperatures gradually rising. As we docked in Funchal we felt happy to make another visit to the lovely island of Madeira. We set off on our walk along the coastline from Funchal passing Reid's Palace. We enjoyed the cliff and mountain scenery and on our return to Funchal we enjoyed the city centre and the busy streets before returning to our ship for our evening sailing.
