RTW trip?

I am hoping to leave early 2009, I am flexible with dates, duration of travel and destinations (to an extent :-D) Ideally I'd like to see as much as possible on a budget, places of interest include Africa, one or two Thai Islands (but not the mainland) Austrailia, NZ, Figi (cook Islands) and possibly South America if money allows! most likely ending up in NY for a few weeks before back to London. All this is totally a rough idea, im open to adding places to this and changing things round!

I would like it to be minimum six months, maximum a year- details can be worked out!

Would really love a fun, friendly and flexible traveller, max age 30, gender unimportant, who likes to discover new things and not just be a tourist :-) any ideas

Hey. I am looking at a large trip early 2009 (to celebrate end of uni) and I am also interested in most of the places mentioned. I have done the south island of NZ and have already had a look around Australia - I am happy to tour elsewhere during that time, will probably go and see more of North America. Reply to this

Hey! Just thought I should update my post as plans have become a bit more organised!

Im hoping to leave at the end of November this year, and do Thailand-Island hoping and maybe a trip to Cambodia for a while, (total about 6 weeks) then approx 5 months travelling and working in Australia, a month in New Zealand, then onto The Cook Islands or Hawaai (Fiji has proved very expensive) then probably a stay in San Fransico or New York for a few weeks on the way back.

Having done a lot more research, South America and Africa are out of my price-range with the rest of the trip, but they're also places Id love to see in a lot of detail, so in a couple of years or something, I'll be looking at spending a while there. For now though, thats my planned itinerary-Im still very flexible-when out there if the mood takes me somewhere else completely random thats fine! So do get in touch if this route and time period is appealing, or even if your just gonna be in one or two of these places roughly the same time. Would be good to meet as many people as possible, and also just swap stories and find out wheres good to go-or where to avoid!! :-)

Hey Sara, havent caught up with you yet on MSN as im working crazy hours this week!
Just thought id reply to your message from earlier today...
I plan to leave on my trip shortly after my 21st Birthday which is October 25th! And i plan to begin my travels in Asia, so Thailand and Cambodia may be a possiblity to join/meet. I do however plan to travel some of the mainland of Thailand as well as island hopping, and hopefully complete my PADI diving on one of the islands!

Anyway hope all is well, and hopefully catch up with you soon.
