i use webshots.com and found out that if you don´t log out you stayed logged in and the next person who opens the site has access to your photos - which means they could delete tham all. worse yet, webshots.com doesnt maintain a backup. i found this out after the internet that i was using in a cafe crashed and then next day when i went in i used the same compter and i was still logged in. you know that sometimes the computers crash - loose connections ... and you cant always log out.

webshots response the problem is - it is your responsibility to log out.

imagine if someone deleted all your photos!!! Reply to this

It's a good rule for all sites - always log out when on the road.

On travelblog - you remain logged in as long as the browser is open - so if you close the browser, or log out or the machine is turned off - that's it you're logged out of the site.

On many banking sites you have a 15min timeout - no activity on the site for 15 mins and you're logged out. (wouldn't work here where writing a blog can take much longer)

You should send a note to webshots also - maybe that this just hasn't occured to them as a problem. Reply to this

i sent a note to them, they dont care. i told them that at times it is impossible to log out. for example when you are traveling - if the internet goes down and you have to catch a bus or something , you can´t wait around for the internet to come back up. they said it is not their responsibilit. obviously they dont know what is like to be a traveler or dont care Reply to this
