What they don't know is that their are some less known sites that allow you to find much better deals than the big ones. | Even less known is how to get free airline tickets which yes is possible if your willing to be bumped and wait an hour or two for the next flight. Airline Tickets Online has more information on how to successfully get bumped for a free airline ticket. All major airlines feed their available seats and prices into four central reservation systems that are owned by various airlines. The systems are Apollo, Sabre, WorldSpan and Galileo. Airlines then change their prices based on demand. If a certain flight is selling well, the price will increase. If another flight has no takers, the fare will drop until the airline gets some. As a result, fares and inventory are changing every minute. Since the four are updated at different times throughout the day; this is why you'll sometimes find better fares on one site over another. Demand also explains why it is almost always cheaper to fly on a weekend or at odd hours. The airlines also price their seats by dividing seats on each flight into several price ranges then set aside a certain number of discounted tickets for advertising.
