Need to find someone over 60 to travel with me to Germany 04/25/2013 to 05/06/2013. Actually, as retired Air Force, I will be flying Military Space Available, and unless you are eligible, you have to fly commercial. But we can meet in Germany.
Hi! I lived in Germany for 14 years, and have relatives and friends there, also have friends in Spain, where I lived for 6 years, and I belong to an expat club in Madrid, so I'll have more friends and attend some of their parties, when I arrive. I speak fluent German, and almost fluent Spanish. I try to go there every 2 years at least to visit and have fun. The Fiesta de San Isidro starts on 05/06 in Madrid, and goes to the 16th. It's, in my opinion, the best Fiesta that Spain has, and I want to be there. My itinery is, depart the U.S. on 04/26, arrive in Germany 04/27 early morning. Rent-a-car, pick you up in Frankfurt Airport, drive to the Köenigshofen, Tauberbisschofsheim, and Bad Mergentheim area, on the Romantische Strasse for 3 days. Drive to Köln and Düsseldorf, visit relatives and meet new people until 05/06. Return rental car in Düsseldorf airport, fly round trip to Madrid, spend 10 days in Madrid and surrounding areas. Fly back to Frankfurt, part company with you, and drive to Ramstein Air Base, and depart for the U.S. I will pay car rental costs, and gas, so that saves you a little.
You pay your Air fare to/from Frankfurt, hotel, meals, drinks, etc.
If this iterests you, contact me quickly, so we can make room and car reservations.
Reply to this Can't figure out how to cancel this blog, so decided that I would post this as an addendum to the original post.
I have changed my plans, I will go through Germany, because that's my best chance of getting a seat on a military aircraft, but I won't stay there, will land at Ramstein, take a bus to Frankfurt and fly Frankfurt to Madrid. Should arrive in Madrid on 5 May 2013, and stay there until 16 May, when I will return to Frankfurt, take the bus to Ramstein and leave for the states. I have already booked my flight to Madrid, and my hotel room in Madrid, so if you plan on joining me, you will have to join me in Madrid, and let me know for sure if you are going, so I can help you get a reasonable hotel rate in Madrid. But better hurry, the Fiesta de San Isidro is a big thing in Spain, and hotels get more expensive every day.
