I would like to offer a little we to my GF in Praha. Is there a nice hotel not too far from the center and w/ romantic atmosphere?

Hi.
romantic atmosphere? ok...
- first, book an apartment and have max privacy: they'll give you the key and leave you until you need something. Thats better than hotel with lot of people. And also you will have separated bedroom...
- next, the most romantic place is surely the Mala Strana - it is an old quarter on a slope below the royal castle, with medieval stone houses and old gas lamps ... many pubs, teashops, small galeries etc. Try to find an apartment at street called Nerudova leading directly to the castle.
- but to impress her, I can recommend you something extra - apartments in house called "by red horse" which are really cool, arranged like a combination of modern furniture and historical space. Look :-)bedroom, living room, working room. Nice, isnt it? The apartments are located right in centre, half way between historical old town and main Prague boulevard Vaclavske namesti. And it isnt expensive, about 100 eur for you both (depends on season). Try it...

In case you are looking for a hotel in Prague - I can recommend you a website that really works good!: Prague Hotel Directory www.prague-hotel-hostel-directory.com You will come into contact with a Travel agency that really proved professional and helpful!
You can put in a request and expect an answer back within 1 day - Good thing is that they answer your request personally, and can organize any small extra’s you may wish (room with a wheelchair for example). They will offer you the price for the room you request - or a good alternative - we had to pay 86 Euros/room for our hotel, upon arrival at the hotel, price at the reception was 119 Euros! (so they do their work well!). We also had some problems with our flight - and we were able to change the reservation, Free of charge! (it was about 4 days in advance) - after some experience with online systems, they often charge a handling fee or booking charge!
Next to that - we also ordered opera tickets, and had them delivered to our hotel - very good service and really recommend this way of booking your hotel!

Be very careful of this company Apartments they have a bad habit of overcharging when you check out, they are very dishonest please be careful as they could ruin your stay in a very beautiful city.

Let me highly recommend to all agency www.homesweethome.cz from Prague. They have about 250 apartments, mostly in the centre of the city for reasonable prices - they have also discounts for longer stays... There work young and very helpful guys, speaking english, spanish, italy, etc... and I am pretty sure they will do everything for you... ;-) Reply to this

Depends what amount you are (willing) to spend - note that the beginning of september is considered high season in Prague, up to end October (then again low season) -

Hotel 51, Praha 9, Prague 194 00, Konzumní 14 / 253 - close to the Hloubetin metro station. Rooms acceptable (rather 2*). Staff can smoke at your breakfast (rather 2*). Although shown - they don't accept credit cards. Cash required. Don't pay in advance. If they fail you won't get money back. Hotel 51 doesn't belong to any association. As far as I remember these Apartments were really fine. Beginning with service and ending with room equipment. I am really suprised that they did some overcharging, I have completely another experience. They returned some money back. So from my point if view I can only recommend Prague City Apartments as a great choice for trip staying. Reply to this

As fas as I can tell, never pay in advance. Always in the morning. But beware, ask when you get in how much it will cost. Some hotels are known to charge 3x more than what they have on the ad! Reply to this
