Lost 400+ photos - Mexico

I deleted my holiday photos by mistake because I didn't familiarise myself properly with my new digital camera.

I was eager to contact anyone who would be kind enough to send me photos of Zincanatan, San Juan Chamula, San Cristobal de las Casas, Palenque, Oaxaca, Puebla. Unfortunately I deleted in error 400+ photos from my new digital camera. I travelled through Chiapas from May to August and stayed in San Cris for one month. From here I went to a festival in San Juan Chamula, one day visited Zincanatan to buy textiles. My photos of a day trip to Palenque were quite good as tourism was at a low due to the swine flu so I had taken photos which didn't include alot of tourists, quite rare indeed. We only spent 4 days in Oaxaca & 5 days in Puebla but would love some photos of these places also.
I am due to go home to Australia on 5 September and I have limited photos to show my family, I feel so stupid as to what I did and cannot believe it still to this day.
Hope you can help!
Rene

Hi

I haven't tried it myself but there seems to be software which can recover deleted files from memory cards - might be worth a try?

A quick google search came up with this site which seems to get good reviews and is free.

Has anyone got any experience with recovering deleted photos? Does it work?

Good luck recovering your pics or getting replacements!

It is almost impossible to recover them you may have to travel there again...its a good excuse i suppose.

The only option I can give you is to go to a camera store and see what they can do for you. Reply to this

Thanks for all of your suggestions, if I am successful with recovering them I'll let you all know, otherwise if you don't hear anything I am back to my memory only and that will fade after a few years, damn! Reply to this

I am still hoping that someone that has travelled to the places I have mentioned in my message dated 5 October 09 will be able to help me. I would like to have a couple of JPEG photos from each place as I was never able to recover my photos. Thank you! Reply to this
