Hi folks, we are starting the final legs of our trip. We are currently in Montivideo contemplating a shopping day. We dont leave till 6 tonight so once we check out we can go shopping.

So where have we been lately, we took the train to Tigre from BA. This was a great day, Tigre is on the outskirt of BA and the wealthy people have beach houses here, albeit that it is on a river and not the sea. One of the things you can do is get on the ilan fery boat an go for lunch, we went down the river for an hour, the captain ha two speeds flat out forward an hard reverse, he was delivering mail, people, picking up people on his way down th river and then did the same on the way back. The river is a lot of ilands really and many many houses. The president of Argentina has a houe up here, also the artist whose house features in the photos also lives in Tigre now. Lunch was in the Las Torro restaraunt, the word average comes to mind. Never mind th lunch it was a good day out.

Early the next morning it was on the ferry to colonia, this is a world heritage place and is lovely. We wandered round for several hours including a lunch in one of the squares, it is tough being on holiday eating and drinking in the sun. One of the striking features of colonia is the river - totally brown, full of river silt, the placce really desserves blue water.

We got on one of the loal buses and travelled to Montivideo. Uraguay is so like NZ, th country ide just look the same but lightly flatter. Key economic river are the farming industry

Punta del este was a must see for us, so a day trip was planned. Punta del este is where the rich spend jan-march. Apartment reach $6000000 US. The populatin ranges from 8000 for 9 months and 500,000 for 3 months. We also visited Carlos´s house and spent money, the guilds an the rowes bought art work, but ruth tried to buy an original - needless to say pete put his foot down and said no. Ruth certainly is not putting her foot down hard today - she was childish and rushed to put her foot in the atlantic first, in the process she hurt her foot, so she is limping round today, Ruth needs to remember she is not as young as she was.
