So, so good. Beef, veg, chips, rice. Mmmmm Ok so this post is about Peruvian food. The food here is absolutely amazing and I can't wait to get a recipe book (hint hint Christmas present mum) and try to recreate some of these at home!
Coy (guinea pig) and alpaca are some of the local delicacies, as well as ceviche and quinoa soup. Inka cola is the local soft drink, chicha morada is a drink made from purple corn, and the grape brandy pisco originated from Pisco Peru.
Yesterday I tried prickly pear fruit which tastes a lot like papaya. Still a few weeks to go but here's a taste (no pun intended) of what I've sampled so far. We've also visited some local markets so there are pics of that too.
Enjoy!
