At the highest point!
Today we drove for about 5 hours on a shuttle bus to a little town called Chivay. We stopped at a lookout which was the highest altitude we'd been at so far (4900m). It was really beautiful. We stopped for lunch at a little pizza and sandwich restaurant and Rach tried Alpaca pizza. Our hotel in Chivay was a gorgeous place called Mama Yacchi. Some of the group went for a walk up one of the mountains to a Pre Inca tomb site. The view of the valley was incredible. Later on we also went for a swim at some hot springs (which smelt like Rotorua!) Unfortunately Rach was a hit with a bit of altitude sickness and had a really bad headache, so she didn't come on the walk or to the hot springs. We had a nice buffet dinner at the hotel, then played some cards around the fire.
