We arrived in La Paz early on 29 April, and after a short taxi ride from the bus station, found a nice place to stay close to the centre of town. La Paz (at over 3,600m) is often cited as the highest capital city in the world, but whilst the city is the seat of the national government, Sucre (located in the south-central part of the country) remains the constitutional capital. Question: Guided?
Hi there - Looks like you both enjoyed a wonderful trip. Was it guided or did you and your partner travel solo? Also, was safety an issue? Thanks.

We booked a 4 day tour to take us from Tupiza to Uyuni, and a separate guided tour near Cusco (Salkantay trek) but otherwise did it all ourselves, and it felt safe - only place we felt a little nervous was walking around some of the quieter streets in Limda
