Our excursion to Lake Titicaca started with an awesome ride in a tuk tuk to the wharf. We bought some flour and rice for our homestay families then hopped on a boat to one of the reed islands in the Lake. The people on the island live in huts with no electricity. After the reed island, we caught a reed boat, which was paddled by two locals, to another small island. We hopped on the boat again for another 3 hours to the island where we were spending the night. Our host family cooked us lunch, then we met up with the rest of our group and hiked up a mountain to a temple to watch the sun set. After dinner, our host mamas dressed us in traditional outfits for a dance at the local community hall. Despite being freezing in the outfits it was a really fun night
