The forest at night came alive with the beam of my headlamp.

I am not sure what this spider was gaining with the little web filament in the center of the web, but it looked cool!

There were so many lovely varieties of fungi and mushrooms in the forest.

These giant butterflies were beautiful when they flew, flashing brilliant blue in the darkness below the canopy, but they were hard to get pictures of.

These guys were hard to photograph, though I often had excellent opportunities (and no camera).

This was a fairly common snake that I found at Posada - They were harmless and quite fast, but very beautiful.

Here they are building a bridge to gain access to our lodge. Once at the colpa hide I turned around to see the entire floor covered with thousands of foraging army ants - For some reason they left me alone in my little corner.

All of the insects were hiding in the bushes to escape the army ants. This wasp took advantage of it and found some food.

Giant seemed to be the standard in the Amazon. this snail was about three inches long from head to end of the shell, but I found several unoccupied shells that were five inches long by themselves.

I am standing with my back to the moldy bed I started with. I eventually moved to the top right bunk with was much better.

This guy was beautiful, but it looked dangerous.
