caught the train back from Aguas Calientes to Ollantaytambo where our bus was waiting to take us back to Cusco. Slept on the train and got bitten to pieces by mosquitos all over my legs as i was wearing 3/4 lenghts.

Next day we headed off to go white water rafting on the sacred river. it was really good fun. The guides and equipment was excellent. we all paddled down the river with everyone elses boats capsizing or flipping except ours ha ha BEST. Decided to celebrate our last nite in Cusco and the fact that we have been to Machu Picchu. ate at a really nice tapas bar and went off to meet the others at the irish bar. Dunno what happened but i got completely wasted. don´t remember a thing after the irish bar. apparently i headed off on my own to a club, got lost and managed somehow to phone Rolando (or at least get a bloke to call for me and explain where on earth i was). Good old ROlando took me home. thank god for him. Woke up really early fully clothes except for my top which was in the bathroom covered in puke. dont remember a thing. packed quickly a duffle bag and headed off for the jungle. We had to take a flight from Cusco to Puerto Maldonado where we visited a poorly zoo of local animals. the owner has gone away so the animals are not being fed properly, nice. after feeding the cretins some fruit we set off on a seriously dodgy bus ride for an hour over the roughest roads known to man (not helped by bad hangover). finally we reached the river and got on a little boat. we drove upstream for at least two hours stopping now and again to view wildlife, monkeys, caymen, mackays, etc

the jungle eco lodge where we are staying is beautiful, quite, log huts with no electricity only candles. really romantic. very peaceful with unbelievable wild life and bird noises deafening you where ever you are.

ate some lovely food and went on a nite hike around the camp where we saw incredible bugs and stick insects, snakes glow worms, lizards etc slept well this nite.
