Every morning they flock to the claylicks to eat clay that will assist in neutralizing the abundant tannins that come from the seeds they eat...fascinating.

this is the same creek our water at the 'lodge' comes from. They swore to us it was filtered.

that uses mercury to get the gold out of the sand. Our guide tells us they get about 6 grams a month. It is illegal to use mercury but she says the mining owners pay off the local government to turn their backs.
