Our 3 day trip to Machu Picchu began leaving the ship at 7:15 in Lima. 56 people and Isabella from the shore excursion staff made up the group. First was the crazy rush hour traffic through Lima to the airport for an hour flight to Cusco. Cusco is at about 12000 feet. There are a couple of shots from the airplane. We were split into 4 groups with a guide, ours was Ivan. We were given a city tour including a catholic church built on an old Inca structure. We were in the city center for lunch on our own. The grilled alpaca was very good! After lunch we traveled to Saqsaywaman. Giant stone block walls. No mortar between them and they were transported from another site 28km. This was over 600 years ago and this is mountainous area.
