We got to montañita about two months ago. We just wanted to check it out because our colombian friends had told us about it. Although we wanted to leave soon and keep on travelling to Perú, we decided to give it a try and stay a bit longer... And here we are, two months later, still enjoying the sea and the sunsets in Montañita.

Last Tuesday we went to a place called Puerto Lopez. We met a man who called himself Winston Churchill and he offered to take us to Salango, a small island nearby, for $20 each, in his boat. We accepted, and next day we left with him. First we fished four about 1 hour. Then he took all the fish we had caught and made a ceviche with them. DElicious and very fresh!! We did some snorkeling right after, took hundreds of pictures of the ocean, the island, the pelicans....etc. We swam for a while.... then went back to Puerto Lopez. We stayed for two nights at a very nice place called LA FRAGATA. It was around $6 each. The rooms had private bathrooms with hot water, balconies with hammocs and a nice view of the

town.... t.v. with cable.... ect. We liked the place a lot. At night we went to Winston's place to eat some lobsters we had bought earlier at sea. His wife is an excellent cook!!!

We had a great time in Puerto Lopez and I really recommend Winston as a guide. He is really cook, out-going and funny.
