Banana Plantations

Bananas wrapped in blue plastic bags - not sure why
The CIFA bus was much more rickety than any other bus we had been on but was well equipped with a good driver, conductor and security guy (no bathroom). We cruised along through endless fields of banana plantations. They went as far as the eye could see. Occassionally we would come across a town where we would drop off and pick people up. And that was really the extent of the ride.

First cultural observation - Ecuadorians look quite different than Peruvians.

Second cultural observation - the men are working! Rarely in Peru did we see a man doing any work, so when hoards of men raided the bus trying to sell food/drink/stuff it was a surprise.

By about 3:00, only an hour late, we were in Guayaquil.
