Apres les Galapagos nous sommes revenus a Quito a Secret Garden notre hostel tres sympathique. Nous voulions y rester une seule nuit pour repartir tout de suite dans les montagnes et au final on en a passe 3.
Nous avons pris le temps de nous poser et on a marche jusqu'au Pinchincha. Quito se trouve a 2800 m et tu prends le telepherique qui t'amene jusqu'a 4100 m. Deja tu sens tres bien les effets de l'altitude. Et on a marche jusqu'en haut a 4700m. On a nous avait 3h aller retour mais en fait ona mis 3h juste l'aller. En plus il faut grimper les 30 dermiers metres. Du coup on a mis 5h en tout. On avait prevu de prendre le bus l'apres midi pour aller a Baños, mais du coup on a reporte au lendemain. La vue de Quito d'en haut est cependant splendide quand les nuages ont disparu.

In total we have probably spent 1 full week in quito between all the times we have come back here after each part of equador. Its nice enough. The hostel we stayed in each time had a nice terrace with an amazing view of the city and the sorrounding mountains and we used this as our base at all times to rest in between each section of equador.
The highlight was climbing Pinchincha a mountain with an elevation of 4700m which is right beside Quito. When you go up the views of the city are amazing. There is a cable car that brings you to 4100 and you climb the last 600m. We were told it would take us 3 hours. It took 5 hours. They lied.
