We´d agreed to meet the others at Starnet at 9.30 with the intention of going to Cotapaxi for the day. However, after talking it over the previous night with Silvie and Lorena and consulting the Lonely Planet it wasn´t actually feasible to do as a day trip so we will have to save that for next time we´re up in Quito. We were only half an hour late meeting the others (which is on time by Ecuadorian standards anyway) to find they´d already moved on to the Coffee Tree to have breakfast. We actually had a good reason for being late as we were making Belinda a card using all our school equipment - knew it would come in handy! Bel stayed at home as it was her birthday and she was expecting a call from home but us six went to Parque de Carolina to spend a lazy day, stopping off at the supermarket on the way to get a picnic. $26 for all six of us - very impressive I thought especially as we didn´t even manage to eat half the stuff we bought. We also stopped off in a random shop that seemed to sell everything where we finally found bikinis! Our intensive three day is finally at an end although I´m not sure how well they will fit - Ecuadorians seem to have funny ideas about clothes and it´s quite insulting having to buy size large in everything!
We made it to the park totally by accident in the end despite several consultations with the map and settled down with far too much food. The boys went to sleep as soon as they had eaten (typical really!) whilst Louisa decided to do a gymnastics display on the grass - fair enough!
Split up to walk home as we live in opposite directions stopping off in the internet cafe where it´s beginning to feel like we live!
