They can live up to 150 years and live up to one year without food or water. (Normally they'll eat every 3 days.) The Galápagos were named after these giants.

Baby Galápagos giant tortoises are kept locked here when they're very young - safe from the rats and the tourists who have been known to slip a small one in a pocket and leave.
