Wow! Galapagos really is a paradise. Even for someone like me who doesn’t have any particular interests in animals or birds, it was the most beautiful experience. You can literally walk within a few feet of nesting birds, swim with the sealions and get up close to land and marine iguanas and they don’t bat an eyelid. This type of cormorant is endemic to Galapagos. They have evolved without the ability to fly as they have no predators.

At "Post Office Bay" on Floreana. Postal system used in the olden days, whereby sailors on passing ships would either drop off mail or (if they were about to set off for home) pick up any mail which they could transport to their home port for delivery. My parents are still waiting for their postcard...
