15/2-2013: Ee got up at 10 and packed and had some breakfast before getting on the bus. The bustrip took 18 hours but went by surprisingly fast. We saw three movies with spanish voiceover and subtitles and then we slept.
16/2-2013: Ee had a hard time finding a room in La Senera but in the end we found a room at Hostal Croata, a little expensive at 30.000 pesos but including breakfast. We went to the beach even though it was very cloudy. A long walk but we found it and saw some horses used for tourist riding - we ended up speaking with the owner for a long time. Then we went to find some lunch and afterwards the sun came out so we decided to relax on the beach and ended up sleeping so we woke up two hours later red and sunburned. Then we walked home to the hostal, had a shower and relaxed. Late dinner and then a little chilean tv before sleeping.
17/2-2013: We slept untill 11 and were still tired but we went out for some breakfast and went horsebackriding by the beach. It was a short trip but a good succes for
Helena who earlier only had a bad experiences with horses, but I must admit I did not like the way they treat the horses there. After the ride we stayed and talked a little and on the way home we went into a park which was also a mini zoo with an ostrich, lamas and many birds. In the evening we went for dinner at the town square and went to bed early.
18/2-2013: We slept for a long time again and then we went for a long walk around the city and on the beach just enjoying and relaxing the last day there. Then after a shower and some dinner we packed our things and prepared for the nightbus to Valparaíso.
19/2-2013: We arrived at our new hometown early in the morning and decided to take a taxi to a hostel in the center. Just after the taxi tour I was alleady in love with the city, with the steep hills covered in coloured small houses, the sea and the grafitti paintings on the walls. There were no rooms at the hostel but the street was full of them and at the next one we got a
private room at dorm price and she told us we could rent a room here on monthly basis if we didnt find an apartment. We went out for breakfast and when we came back the room was ready. It is a big older house and everywhere it is very high up to the ceiling and everything is very boheme - the husband had used our room for painting and now he had moved all his stuff in to the next one.
We decided to nap since Helena hadn't slept much on the bus. Then we went out for some lunch and took a long walk along the sea and afterwards we went in the other direction and ended up sitting with a small puppy on a town square where a man told us we had to take care of our bags, which we already did, but apparantly it was not the best neighbourhood. After that we went to the harbour and sat down looking at all the local tourists who jumped on and off boats for boat tours. Then we went home and went out late for dinner just across the street where we had some delicious tapas.
