An early morning start to get to Santiago, Chile.<span> Total travel time 17 hrs 30 mins, via Houston and Lima.<span> The flights were rather uneventful except the United flight from Houston to Lima.<span> The flight was late departing because many people ignored the seating order and boarding was very chaotic.<span> On top of that many people brought oversized bags onboard and there was no room for them all.<span> The plane was kind of crappy, without personal entertainment system.<span> Luckily I sat next to someone from Louisiana who was on his way to do missionary work in the Peruvian Amazon and we had some interesting conversation.<span> The flight attendants were also surprisingly pleasant for an American airline; they were all smiles and even helped a passenger with his crossword puzzle.
