We flew from the Galapogas Islands to Quito (the capital of Ecuador) where we did very little but eat and drink for 2 days whilst waiting for a further flight to Santiago (the capital of Chile if anyone is struggling with world geography).
We then spent 5 days in Santiago whilst we waited for our Brazilian visas to be processed... a fairly straightforward process (surprisingly).
Rather than bore anyone with details, our stay in Santiago may be summarised as follows:
Number of Brazilian visas obtained: 2
Number of bird shits to hit Julien: 1 (total for trip being 5)
Number of airports slept in: 1 (total for trip being 1 which is surprisingly low)
Number of cases of food poisoning: 1 (total for trip being 4,000)
Number of trips to the supermarket: 1 (total for trip being 1)
Number of meals cooked: 1 (total for trip being 1)
Number of ice creams eaten: Too many to count
Number of bottles of wine drunk: Unable to remember
Number of times fearful with expectations of being mugged: 1 (total for trip being 277)
Number of times ripped off by scam: 1 (taking the total for this trip to 1 surprisingly...
only $2 lost)
Number of weeks behind in blog: Several
