Looking back I feel like Arica got shafted in my last blog entry. And it was really quite a nice little place! So i felt i should mention it again…check out the pictures in my last blog..anyways… we survived our 28 hour bus ride from Arica to Santiago. Wow, we had really really low expectations for how it was going to be. But it wasn´t actually that that that horrible. I mean, it was bad. But it wasn´t as bad as the other buses that we’d been on that smelt disgusting or had no leg room. So we dealt with it…Spanish dubbed movies, horrible cheese and salami sándwiches (for breakfast lunch and dinner) and everything else that came with 28 hours of confinement.
So here we are, in Santiago. We are staying with Carmen, a lady who Callie´s aunt and uncle met 35 years ago while travelling in Chile. They have not seen each other since then, but have kept in contact this whole time! Through letters and emails as technology improved! So cool! So we are staying with her, her husband and their family. They have 4 children…over the age of 26..living with them! It´s pretty chill, we
Government buildings
and canons..obviously! That´s Vincente, Carmen´s son..our guide for the day! play sudoku and eat alot. Haha, me and callie have explored the city for past few days and it´s pretty nice! I´m ready to move on..but they are having this big BBQ on Saturday and have convinced us to stay until then. So we will be heading out on Sunday morning to Valparaíso and Vina del Mar (2 hours from Santiago, in Chile, on the coast) before we head over to Argentina.. I miss you all! And love all your comments and messages - thank you!

Glad you made it
Glad you got to Santiago OK and didn't meet another lady like the one on that last bus. Sounds like a great time. Enjoy!
