We both still have ever-itchy feet and woke up in a cold sweat one morning with the realisation that if we did not take advantage of the under 30 (ish) work visa that Canada offers to Australian residents, we would never get to. So here we are over 17 months later, taking the long way home via South America. No need to rush...
Post Script: We are now 4, not 2, and we are no longer under 30! We still have ever-itchy feet but also a mortgage to contend with so for the most part our travels from now on will probably be a little shorter in duration... but they will continue!... full info
Such a cool plantIt looks like it should be soft, but it is as hard as rock. Actually, it looks exactly like coral, even has all the little polups etc. Plus it gives the desert scenery a nice shade of green.
Close to the Bolivian borderThis was after the Bolivian entry point, but before the Chilano border. I think a lot of Bolivians come here to sell stuff to Chilanos after a bargain. The border was absolutely carzy. Full of people selling stuff, or just hanging out. Busses, trucks, police, army, security, cargo... we did not take any photos, as it took all our mental energy just to work out what was going on.
