Villarrica Volcano
on top of the world!
the journey up
Getting up there was a lot of hard work and pretty scary at times.
the journey down
Getting down was easy and heaps of fun. We slid down the ice on our bums using the icepick as a brake.
inside Villarrica Volcano
Unfortunately we did not see lava on the day we went, however the group that went the following day did.
At the rim of the volcano
At the rim of an active volcano
I could only stand here for about 15 seconds before my eyes and throat started to burn because of the sulfurous fumes.
