ThuVisited the Rubber plantation today. Expected to see a large manufacturing process but instead saw an old man shinning up a tree to collect sap from a halved plastic bottle, then heating it over a fire of burning cocoanuts, and dipping a mould in to form a rubber wallet, a ball and a condom! Guess which one Kevin bought. Yep.... You guessed it. The ball. We then visited an equally primitiveManoic Flour "factory". Thing is although basic, this is how the Amazonian works for a living, the same way for 300 yrs. After Lunch (wolf fish), we hunt for sloth to no avail. They sleep 23hrs a day.... A bit like me. On way back to lodge, just before sundown, we fish for Piranhas with sticks, line, hook and raw chicken meat. Kevin pulls up 3 but manages to land none of them. As ever Gordon lands first, followed by Tricia and Graeme. Kev catches 7 but looses all! Overall we catch 2 red and 2 white piranha, and eat later as a side dish with dinner. Watch Sun go down from canoe , have dinner, then play cardsIt rains,.....heavy. Still warm though.
Last few days, been on boat more than entire lifeIf you think "golfers bum" is bad, wait till you get "canoe arse".2 Germans appear but we avoid talking about the war. Last night in lodge. Sleeping great but thankful its last night.
