Cameron finally makes it off the ferryCameron finally makes it off the ferryCameron finally makes it off the ferry

We were so pleased to see Cameron again after losing him in the Amazon
I'm getting feedback that all this talk of beaches is making people back in the cold and wet UK jealous so I'll not mention the last week much, except the turtles, the sand dunes and how well my sun tan is progressing.

I thought though it would be nice to tell you a bit about Cameron 'cos he's quite cool and I'm getting rather fond of him. The first rule in the "10 ways to upset your crew" list is to call Cameron a bus, we think this is just because the crew don't want to be known as bus drivers. The only exception is when we go through tolls, or get stopped by police in "no truck" zones when you will hear the crew swear blind that it's a bus. So I guess you'd say Cameron has a bit of an identity crisis.

Anyway a quick tour round Cameron, it's amazing how much you can fit on board:-

* 21 passengers
* 3 crew (we've got an extra one 'cos our leaders 5 months pregnant and not supposed to be changing tyres and stuff like that - not that it's stopped her yet)
* all our

luggage, and that's growing by the day
* 8 roof seats for admiring the scenery
* 15 tents
* 2 cooking stoves and associated gas bottles
* a fridge and cool boxes for the beer and softies
* enough pots, pans and cooking stuff to feed an army
* 2 tables and 26 chairs
* a library which doubles as a bar depending on whether books or alcohol are deemed more important
* space for three days worth of food
* lots of diesel

He's a bit tempramental at times, leaving the camp lights on tends to flatten the battery and he's kind of hard to push start. His springs have had a hard time on the Brazilian potholes which were also responsible for the flat tyre and the shattered wing mirror.

It's a great way to travel and guaranteed to attract attention wherever we go.
