Port 10: Friday 10th. February: Argentina, Ushuaia: We looked at mountains, glaciers and more rainbows as we sailed around islands to arrive into Ushuaia after lunch and went on a tour of the Beagle Channel on a catamaran. Birds galore - cormorants, duck cormorants, gulls, petrels, terns and a colony of South American sea lions.

Port 12: Tuesday 14th. February: Argentina, Puerto Madryn: Today we had time to stroll around the town before our tour through the Patagonia countryside to the town of Trelew (settled by the Welsh people) and the Paleontological Museum which features exhibits of Patagonian dinosaurs. An amazing museum to visit if you are in the area. Later we visited an are to view the sea lions.

Port 13: Thursday 16th. February: Uruguay, Montevideo: a hot and humid day as we arrived into the harbour through a narrow passage with a view of a graveyard of abandoned decaying boats we found a beautiful green grasshopper on our door - it stayed with us for a few days. Today our tour was a drive through the countryside to a family owned ranch where we were treated to drinks, a BBQ of sausages, veges and bread before a

sit down meal of steak + chicken and salad with sweets of creamed rice ( my favourite). After this we had a go at horse riding, milking a cow and being pulled around the paddock on a cowhide attached to the horse - this is where a person (me) sits on the cowhide and pushes feet onto a strap and holds on while being dragged around behind the horse - great fun. we then went on a hay cart ride around the property before heading back to town and the ship.

Port 14: Friday 17/18th. February: Argentina, Buenos Aires: First afternoon was a tour through the city and past a soccer stadium to a street in Caminito where local artists have their art for sale; onto the La Recoleta Cemetery to see Eva Peron's tomb. The next day we did a drive through San Isidro to visit the Cathedral and walk around the village before heading to the Pirana Delta, Tigre for a boat cruise through the canals.
