Nice fountain in the main park
Spent 5 nights in Mendoza and watched the Champions League final there, Barca edged it for me. Visited one of the wineries, La Rural and got very drunk on Malbec, the most famous wine from this region. Starting to gain weight having eaten in "all you can eat" restaurants two nights in a row... the quality and choice of food in these places is amazing. Had my first asado (Arg. BBQ) on a hostel night and met some really fun people, including South African, Scot and Yank Wes (addendum we met up with Wes in Uyuni, La Paz, Copacabana).
Aside from eating and drinking myself and Gary visited the main park which is massive and includes a rowing club and football stadium from the 78 World Cup. Also joined up with a some English lads Joe (Preston North End) and Stewart (Saints) who had hired a car, so we did the mountain tour and despite low cloud saw some really impressive sights.
May add to this blog at some point as its a bit brief, please let me know whether you prefer longer shorter entries....
