We had some personal business to attend to in Buenos Aires so we decided to make a week of it. We had for gotten how busy the city was (compared to Salta) and we were in for a shock with the price increases since March!
During the week we said "hi and goodbye" to lots of friends and ate and drank far too much! It was quite sad saying all those farewells, but it made us realise what good friends we made in the city last year. It was a shame we couldn't see everyone we wanted to though.
Instead of heading to Bolivia for a final visa-run, we decided to take the ferry over to Colonia for a day. A cool breeze prevented us from hanging around more than was really necessary, but we did manage to find a fabulous restaurant in which to celebrate our 13th wedding anniversary. At least the water was smooth on both crossings, much to Trish's delight!
We stayed with Ronnie and Mario all week in their new apartment in Belgrano. They have been wonderful hosts and we shall miss them terribly, as we will all of our friends. We have uploaded
Relampago"Lightning" in english, named after the speed with which she darts across the floor - really! And she has doubled in size in the time we have known her. Maybe she's really a Galapagos Turtle!
some photos of various objects from their apartment, including the turtles "relampago" and "sweetiepie".
SweetiepieSo small, she fits comfortably in the palm of your hand, and she's fully grown too.
El JirafeAn enormous giraffe lurks in the corner.
A Crow?Ronnie, please remind us what this is, and what its name is again!!
NASA ShipThey don't just go into space you know!
Modern ArtNot sure if we were supposed to sit on it or not!
