Hello,
To start with I'm very sorry for anyone who was worried about me due to the lack of contact... I'm still very much alive and enjoying all the red wine, steak and tango I can get my hands on. You've guessed it I'm finally in Argentina the part of the trip I've been really looking forward to. But before I go into how much I love this country I'll fill you in on my activites since La paz and the worlds most dangerous road, which I survived yey!
From La Paz I headed to South Boliva to vist Salar de Uyuni where I took a 3 day jeep tour around the salt flats and beyond. The scenery was breathtaking like nothing I've ever seen before. We started our tour on the salt flats which are the biggest in the world, just miles and miles of white glisting salt. In the same trip we visited lots and lots of lakes in all manner of colours from green, blue and even red... yes red and I was assured no horrific masacre had occured and the phenomen was due to plankton, well that was the offical line! Most of the lakes
came complete with pink flamingos. The highlight of the trip was the early, very early, morning trip to the geezers. True to South American health and saftey standards we were able to get as close as we wanted to the boiling, gurgling, steaming crators. The whole area looked like something from a horror movie or from out of space, because it was nearly 5000 meters high there were no plants just sparce land and these smoldering geezers.
From the Salt flats I went to San Pedro in the Atacama desert, Chile. The first time in ages I was not at altitude, it was great being able to breathe again! The majority of time spent there was lying in the sun in hammocks, such a hard life! I did make time for a spot of sand boarding, a very strange experince resulting in numerous falls and sand everywhere... i got the impression I wasnt a natural. From the desert I crossed into Argentina to Salta. There I decided to try my hand at hourse riding once again something that dosent come naturally but was lots of fun!!
Iguazu falls was the next stop...absolutly stunning. What more can I say...I'll
include photos! Currently Im in Buenos Aires and I want to stay here forever its got everything. I've started my tango lessons I'm trying to take one a day but theres too many distractions here....lots of live music, art and partys!!! This weekend I went to a two day festival, the line up included the beastie boys, daft punk, pattie smith, dj shadow etc etc. and I might have got myself free tickets for the cream fields festival this weekend...fingers crossed. Theres just too much to do too little time!
Hope everyone had a fun and safe bonfire-night!
Lots of love Joanna

Hey Jo! Glad to hear you're still alive and well and having a ball! I think I'm gonna give up on the salsa now as you'll obviously find yourself a hot latino dancing partner whilst in Argentina! Getting v cold and dark here- you're not missing much let me tell you. Hope you are well and take care Paulxx
