Hot, humid, manic, polluted but with some great quieter areas too. We're not really city people but having a great time & have seen loads & walked everywhere. Hostel not bad - bedroom door handle keeps falling off - but place is clean & staff very friendly & speak English which is a bonus! So far the highlights have been seeing turtles swimming in the river, green parrots in the local parks, the cemetery in Recoletta, having a private viewing of Evita & Peron's apartments through a friend of a friend (not open for public viewings & amazing), La Boca which is a real Bohemian part of town. Had our first local bus ride today - they drive very fast! Cost about 20p & locals very friendly. Just need to learn some more Spanish now!!! Tried a slither of Argentian steak last night - well I had drunk a couple of white wine spritzers at this stage!! Have to say it was gorgeous - I couldn't come all the way over here & not try it!
