Hi All, We´re finally here after all that talking about it, and all´s good! The flight was long and soul destroying ,but they had decent films, and our luggage managed to come all the way too which was nice.
Buenos Aires is massive, but so far people are friendly and life is quite laid back. No-one here rushes much, and it´s a pace of life we are getting used to pretty quickly. We´re staying in San Telmo (the old town) ,and the book wasn´t joking about the crumbling streets - walking about is a bit of an extreme sport.
We´ve met some pretty funny locals in the bars nearby, and Sarah seems to attract the local old men, which she´s a bit worried about! Good job i did those spanish lessons, or I´d never keep up with what´s going on, but it´s still a struggle.
We´ve done some sightseeing and wandered about town pretty successfully, eating empañadas (pasties) and choripan (sausage sandwiches). We even had bit s of sausge on sticks in one bar - like home from home really.
We´ve got some tangoing and a night out in trendy Palermo to come before we move on
to Uruguay on Monday. So should have some stories to come.
PS. I am oficially the whitest man in South America, and the local mosquitos love me ...... i ve got ankles like the elephant man!

Hasn't the jungle formula worked then? Gerry is really sorry, she thought it was the biz. Maybe your not putting enough on or not bending down far enough. Nice shades. You've got to be pleased with the weather at least you would be if you could see what we have here. The sausage sandwiches were a result. The hostel looks as though it is in Brighton. You were the whitest person in Hedge End so it's not a surprise here. You can now work on the suntan but Gerry hopes that the P20 is better than the jungle formula. Glad it's going well. Love from us all.
