We are finally here in Buenos Aires, Argentina!!! After planning this so long we have had our first three days in the Argentinian capital and it has been excellent.

The easiest way to describe BA is as a very cosmopolitan, very big and very busy city. It has a very european feel, and we feel it is like a cross between a spanish and italian city with new york. It has the mixture of bright lights at night, huge buildings, masses of people and a buzz across the whole place.

We arrived on Tuesday and after 24 hours of travelling were absolutely shattered, but still spent a few hours taking in the sights around the city centre where we are staying. We saw huge buildings such as the National Congress, mixed with very old and gothic buildings. We also looked round the city cathedral which was very grand.

On Wednesday we spend the morning in La Boca, which has a reputation for being one of the roughest areas in BA, however we thought it was fine and spent the first part looking round the Boca Juniors stadium (which adam loved) and the second part looking round the Italian influenced docks that are renowned for thier brightly painted houses and live-street tango (and saw a maradona lookalike charging money for photos with him!!).

We also went and has a huge steak and chips for tea for the equivalent of four quid in england!

Today we visited Recoleta in the north of BA which is very posh and included the cemetary that has the most grand and elaborate tombs which included Evitas grave. It was astonishing and hard to believe people were actually buried in small buildings the size of many local houses.

For only two and a half days we have done absolutely loads, and i feel like weve forgotten what we have seen and done! we were going to head out of BA tomorrow, but have decided to stick around for one day as we have tickets to see Argentina vs Paraguay in the world cup qualifiers on saturday!! (should be amazing - 90,000 stadium!!)

There is a selection of photos below, but due to a few technical problems we are struggling to upload all of them but can hopefully get them online in the next few weeks.

We are both well and

Looks awesome!!! La Boca looks like a little art village more than anything - Can't imagine it to be rough.. And I see what you mean about the city being a cross between a Spanish or Italian town and NY.. Totally not how I imagined it. Have fun at the football (poor Daisy :-)! Take care guys!! xx

Yellow guys! The buildings do look very grand, the first two pics look like they have a weird yellow/speia tint to them it's odd. Kinda like they were taken 50 years ago. They do that in Cali and vegas a lot, charge for photos with someone, that guy looks huge though....i'm guessing hes footballer!? Hehehe it looks like bristol with all the multicolour houses. That stadium is HUGE, hope you guys enjoy the match you can't imagine that many people sat there! I think you should get a tiny notebook and pen so when you do visit things you can write it down and not forget. I love that photo of the dog walker very typically american but they all look like strays, i bet that guy is hoping that one doesn't start a fight lol i can hardly handle bubs an mons let alone 10 crazy. Looking forward to your next post!!! Love you xxxx
