Mystery fruit

We don't know what this fruit is. It looks like an olive and comes from a tree that looks kind of like an olive tree. Our friend Aylin brought some up and introduced them to us. You peel off the skin and the flesh is dry and velvety. I think the taste is reminiscent of an apricot.
