Friendly Touts in Bulgaria ...
... at the numerous pleasant cafes and restaurants around Nesebar, much better than the super-aggressive ones you sometimes find in Western Europe. One guy was quite up front about it with me, saying "Obviously we get commissions from people that dine here, but I like talking with people and showing them what my country offers anyway, anything else is just a bonus." Could be a line, but felt genuine, especially when he offered to show me the nightlife around Nesebar's new town later tonight. It's a lot less brash and tacky than Sunny Beach's, and features smaller lounges and live music venues. Sadly, the Balkan sun beat the shit out of me again, and I was in bed relatively early and missed out. Maybe next time!
