The drive to Big Bend country was dull, but increasingly hilly. Highlights included the biggest windfarm we've ever seen, lots of oil pumps and a gas station overrun by cats. We stayed the night at a motel in Alpine, after discovering that our planned destination, Marathon, was all out of rooms.
