Umaid Bhawan Palace
Sometimes called Chittar Palace because of the local Chittar sandstone used in its construction, this masterpiece was started in 1929. It took 3,000 people 15 years to complete. It was constructed during a drought period in the area and was used as a job-creation program.

First, let me thank Scottie B for recommending I visit Jodhpur. I was going to bypass this town and head straight to Jaislamer but I'm happy I did not. Second, after a rough beginning, I have come to love this foreign land called India.
