Day 1 An early start as we take the train from Ollantaytambo to Aguas Calientes. The train stops on the way to allow people to get off to do the one day Inca Trail hike. I'm gutted to miss the chance of doing this trail. Congratulations, World Traveler!
How fantastic that you made your dreams of South America come true! Your description of Machu Picchu emerging from the sunrise fog was magical! I had to go to the Sun Gate and back before the clouds lifted--you were really lucky! The sacred space under the Temple of the Sun in this photo was my favorite place in MP, but I didn't get a photo of it. Thanks so much for this! And you say you want to give up your life and explore. Well, it's much less expensive to do so if you can save up your money and then come down for a year or more, as I've done. You can do it!

You're welcome. Thanks for reminding me about this particular ruin. This is the problem I face for delaying writing up my bogs, I forget things. It really is tempting and I am sure one day I'll find a way to travel around like yourself.
