As I sit at the local Ouzerie, I am reminded of how powerful the actions of humans can be, regardless of the language... We are a rather large group of foreigners in a very small village. I'm a Canadian researcher in Europe, exploring ancient bone assemblages and teaching students about the ways we can analyze such animal bones to ask larger questions about the past.
