So we left Tokyo with a new found excitement for everything Japanese, next stop Nikko. Nikko is a small town up in the hills about 2 hours North West of Tokyo, it's a huge draw for the Japanese population as it has some of the countries most important shrines and temples. It was completely different from Tokyo, think somewhere like Fort William but on a lot smaller scale than the Scottish town ... read more

Fiona and I started this blog in September 2004 when we decided to jack in the jobs and go for a wee bit of a tour around the world, backpacking and dossing in equal measures, what a time we had, this is what we said in our profile before we left:
Fiona and I are leaving our friends and family behind for a 12 month, 35,000 mile round the world trip.
Our first port of call is San Francisco and our last destination is Delhi, in between we've planned trips to New Zealand, Fiji, Australia, Korea, Japan, China, Vietnam, Laos, Thailand, Cambodia and Nepal.
