Beach north of the walls

The beach by where I was staying had the biggest waves of all the beaches I visited. There were sea walls to protect the beach and there were always lots of locals playing in the little bays between the walls. The lifeguards didn't let people out past the walls.

The heat, the humidity, the narrow streets, the palm trees and the beach: this is what I was looking forward to, a much needed break from the short days and rain in Seattle.
