Virtually following Andy's hike with the help of the Guide to the Superior Hiking Trail, there were a lot of ups and downs yesterday and today. Yesterday's segment was mostly on logging roads, but it also included a high point (1,829 feet). The word "steep" appears quite often in the trail descriptions for this segment. I created this blog to provide details of my 2015 through hike of the Superior Hiking Trail. The trip lasted 26 days including 19 days hiking (265 miles), 4 days on a BWCA canoe trip and 3 days off trail playing tourist in Cook Co. I am attempting another SHT through hike in Sept 2017. Differences this year include a more focused trip without the canoe trip and scheduled days off trail. I will be hiking the entire trail including the Duluth section (310 Miles). ... full info
