Nancy learning to roll beedis

One of the colonies turned out be a center for informal beedi (small cigarette) production. We found one group of people sitting on their front steps in a production-line arrangement. We later found out that a family can pick up 1 Kilo of dried tobacco, spend hours making them into hundreds of beedi packets, and make 100 rupees (a little over two dollars).
